New Updates....

Well I know we have not done an update in a long time. We have been so busy with actually working on the house every night until 11PM or later that there has not been time. So here are a few pictures. It would be better to jump down towards the bottom and read up. That way you will see the pictures in order. We are just hoping to get the house done before the Baby comes in August.

Kitchen floor plus some....

So the tile floor. It has taken us a month to finish the tile floor down stairs. It is a very large area and we picked a very tough design. I have to give all glory to my brother Jake and his family for letting come up every night after work for four hours a night and all day Saturday and after church on Sunday for a month. The tile is in the shape of diamonds and then offset two inches with little two inch squares that we cut to fill the offset. It looks great but takes a long time to do. We then did a different pattern with in it around where the dinning room table will go. Did I tell you it took us a month after work to do this.

Last Friday we gathered 7 people together to help grout and it took us 4 hours to do it. Thank You for everyone that helped. For every person that would not have helped it would have taken us another two hours on Friday night.

So thank you thank you Jacob, Jamie, Jamey, Courtney, Mom and Dad, John and Jeff for all your help on our tile floor.

<-- Jake and I laying the tile one night

<--Aunt Lisa watching Madison so Jacob could help me tile.

<-- Thanks Jamey for you help with the cleaning of the grout lines. That is tough work.

<-- You got to love the gloves.

<-- Jeff having way to much fun and thinking about Karlson's later that night.

<-- The sponge crew. That water is cold!
<-- Jake the tile man and the brains behind the whole thing

<-- John the bucket man. Must had carried 500 gallons of water that night. He has been working out at the gym so he was in shape for it.

<-- There is nothing like spending a month on a project to slap mud down on it

<-- Its a killer on the knees

Front Porch...

Mark is helping me with my front porch. It is great to have friends that have talent to help out and Mark has built a lot of decks. Here Mark got his Dad Tim to come and check out his work. Tim jumped in and mixed up the concrete while Mark worked the hose. Thanks for the help guys!

Bamboo and Trim...

Lisa's brothers Tim and Luke came up for a very long weekend and helped install the Bamboo floor, sub-flooring and hung all the inside doors and started to put up trim. It was great to have them come and help. They are so good at what they do and fast. I don't know how I would have done it with out their help. It would not look as nice that is for sure. Thanks Guys! I hope to have you up again soon. :)

Cabinets get delivered

WOW! I didn't realize how many cabinets we were getting. Anybody need some cardboard? This will take three days to install. I am not installing them that would take 3 weeks.

A few of our colors

Here are just a few of the paint colors that Lisa picked out. There are more but this is what we have painted already. I wanted white but I got out voted. She has two votes now.

Interior Painting

Well let me just say I don't like to paint! That said I took off work a couple of days and primed the inside of the house the first day and the second day I painted all the ceilings and the garage. Those were long days. Friday I went to work to rest but that night Lisa's parents and sister came up and helped with my parents and Jacob and Jamie Lynn to get most of the painting done on the inside. Thanks for your help everyone.

<-- Whoa LISA do you remember you're pregnant
<-- Hats like these can only be picked up in France

<-- Amy you shouldn't sniff the paint

<-- Dad was in a hurry. No one can keep up with him in stirring up some paint. Click on the picture.
<-- Always in the spot light. Hey Jake do you know some one that works for a painting supplier.

Garage Door

So here is our Garage door. You're going who cares. Well I do! Anyways it is insulated and thicker then the average garage door. This will help keep the garage warmer in the winter (well until I open it and let out all the hot air.) and it will help with sound as gutterball will be kept in the garage. We also got an ultra quiet garage door opener. It is belt driven instead of chain driven. Only cost $30 more but there is a huge difference. This will be nice when sneaking in and out of the house. :)

Rock

We picked out Burnt Ridge Castle Rock to add a little something to our house. Burnt, CASTLE, Ridge or Rock. Not sure what that something was.

Mud

Mud is not always brown. But it is still dirty.

What you want to see the rest of the sheet rock in the house

By popular demand we have posted the rest of the house.

2 days later

Two days later this is what the garage looked like. A little dirty but exciting to see.

Clean Garage

Well here is a picture of our garage floor. This is the cleanest we will probably ever see it. :)

Resurrection Day / Birthdays....

Today is Resurrection Day of our Lord and Savior. It is also my brother Jacob's 29th Birthday. Tomorrow is my 34th Birthday. For the last 30 years I have had to share my Birthday with my younger brother. At least I had 4 years to myself. :) Here are a few pictures of this nice sunny day.
