How did our parents do it?

So what a fun time we have been having. We don't sleep much and life consist of feeding, burping, pumping, then finger feeding with supplement and breast milk, burping then cleaning all the pumping equipment to turn around and do it all over again in an hour or so. Oh and don't forget the couple of diaper changes in there as well. I have an all new respect for parents. I never thought the whole process would be so time consuming. I thought I would be able to clean the house, do a little landscaping, maybe build a fence while Lisa was watching Zach sleep the day away. Let me tell you I was dreaming. They say it takes a village to raise a kid and now I know why.

A trip to Gresham for a little 5 min weigh in at the doctors office should take only 45 min round trip at the most. But when you throw in one feeding that takes 45 minutes and then a diaper change the trip can take 2 to 3 hours and then you don't dare stop anywhere on the way home because you have to get back to feed again.

If your reading this and are about to have a baby soon, do everything you might ever need to do now before the baby comes because you will not have the ability to do it when the baby arrives. How do all those single parents do it? Lisa's Mom and Dad stayed with us for the first week and what a great blessing that was.

Lisa would like to know from anyone that has a newborn when do you get that nap they tell you to take. I myself am wondering the same thing. People say "sleep when the baby sleeps" well that doesn't seem to work out.

Now those that don't have a Baby or kids are going wow we may not want to have kids if it is like that. Well I can tell you it is also the best thing that has ever changed our life. I can't imagine life with out little Zachary. So I find my very selfish self dieing to my ever going love of my son.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately as every time I picked up the computer to put a post on I was needed in the process I explained above. And then I picked sleep over the new post. So I hope you enjoy the new pictures below.

We have loved looking at your pictures. You will soon get more sleep over time. Seth and I took turns feeding our kids during the night once I got a chance to "store up" extra feedings. We basically rotated nights so that one could at least get 5-6 hours striaght. We were so sleep deprived that we thought we were going crazy. It does get better! You both are doing so wonderful with little Zachary.

I don't know if your freezer has been overwhelmed with food already, but I'm cooking a bunch of lasagnas and enchilladas today to put in ours. Let me know if you'd like a couple and I can drop them off at your doorstep, church, or where ever. I'll always have some so if you don't need some now, but maybe later...that's ok too!

We're praying for your rest!
